Growth Hormone
Growth Hormone Dose Calculator
IU to mg conversion + exact syringe draw for any HGH vial. Works with 10 IU, 36 IU, and custom sizes.
Quick answer: 1 mg HGH = 3 IU. 1 IU HGH = 0.333 mg. For a 10 IU vial + 1 mL BAC water at 2 IU/day: draw to the 20-unit line on a 100-unit insulin syringe.

Frequently Asked
How do I calculate growth hormone dose?
Divide your vial IU by BAC water mL to get concentration. Then divide your target dose (IU) by the concentration to get draw volume (mL). Multiply by 100 for the unit line on a 100-unit syringe. The calculator above does this instantly.
How many mg is 1 IU of growth hormone?
1 IU of somatropin (recombinant HGH) equals approximately 0.333 mg. So 1 mg = 3 IU. This conversion applies to all brands of recombinant human growth hormone.
How many syringe units do I draw for 2 IU?
With a 10 IU vial + 1 mL BAC water: concentration = 10 IU/mL. For 2 IU: draw 0.2 mL = 20 units on a 100-unit syringe. With 2 mL BAC water: concentration = 5 IU/mL, draw 0.4 mL = 40 units. Use the calculator above for any combination.
How many doses are in a 10 IU vial?
At 2 IU/day: 5 doses. At 1 IU/day: 10 doses. At 3 IU/day: 3 doses. A 36 IU vial at 2 IU/day lasts 18 days.
How do I reconstitute growth hormone?
Draw 1-2 mL of bacteriostatic water into a syringe. Inject slowly down the inside wall of the vial, not directly onto the powder. Swirl gently until dissolved; never shake. Refrigerate at 2-8C. Use within 20-30 days.
What is BAC sodium chloride, and can I use it for HGH?
Bacteriostatic sodium chloride (BAC NaCl) is 0.9% sodium chloride preserved with benzyl alcohol. It works for HGH reconstitution. Standard bacteriostatic water (BAC water, 0.9% benzyl alcohol in sterile water) is more common and equally effective. Both allow multi-dose use over 20-30 days. Plain saline or plain sterile water without benzyl alcohol is single-use only.
What is the difference between HGH and GH secretagogues?
Somatropin (HGH) is synthetic recombinant growth hormone that directly replaces endogenous GH. GH secretagogues (Ipamorelin, CJC-1295, Sermorelin) stimulate the pituitary to produce more of its own GH. Secretagogues are dosed in mcg, not IU. See the comparison page for all GH-axis calculators.
Common HGH Conversions
| Dose | mg equivalent | Syringe draw (10 IU + 1 mL) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 IU HGH | 0.333 mg | 10 units |
| 2 IU HGH | 0.667 mg | 20 units |
| 3 IU HGH | 1.000 mg | 30 units |
| 4 IU HGH | 1.333 mg | 40 units |
| 6 IU HGH | 2.000 mg | 60 units |
2 IU HGH = 0.667 mg. Rule: divide any IU dose by 3 to get mg (3 IU = 1 mg exactly).
BAC Water & Reconstitution Reference
| BAC water added | Concentration | 2 IU draws to |
|---|---|---|
| 1 mL | 10 IU/mL | 0.20 mL (20 units) |
| 2 mL | 5 IU/mL | 0.40 mL (40 units) |
| 3 mL | 3.3 IU/mL | 0.60 mL (60 units) |
Bacteriostatic sodium chloride (BAC NaCl) and bacteriostatic water are both used for reconstituting peptides. BAC water (0.9% benzyl alcohol in sterile water) is the standard for HGH. The benzyl alcohol preserves the vial for multi-dose use across 20-30 days. Plain sterile water or saline without benzyl alcohol has no preservative and is single-use only.
